A chain of London Hospitals has commissioned Amtico International flooring for a number of its sites, following the success of a pilot scheme.
Amtico International worked closely with the healthcare establishment to deliver a flooring finish suitable for the environment and one that would withstand its high footfall.
Following a trial period, the initial project saw 1,500 square meters of Limestone Calico, from Amtico’s Stone collection, installed in a series of corridors, waiting areas and wards.
Longevity and appearance retention were key influencing factors in commissioning the Amtico range, as the hospital’s director of estates, explained: “It was essential that the floor could withstand the heavy traffic of visitors, staff, beds and equipment whilst retaining its initial appearance for a number of years.
“Hygiene is of paramount importance and the quality of Amtico’s finish makes cleaning effortless. We have been very pleased with the results and have now installed the flooring in various areas across a number of our sites.”
The unique structure of Amtico’s flooring provides four technically advanced product layers which strengthens its durability. Engineered ceramic particles are contained within the upper layer to improve slip-resistance. Topped with a surface Urethane treatment layer, for added scuff resistance and lower maintenance, Amtico is ideal for healthcare environments.
